Whatever it is that you want to learn about the sax, whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate player or an advanced player, we have a class, lesson or workshop for you.

What’s different about Sax School UK?

The courses, workshops and lessons that we run are pragmatic. That means that, especially with beginners, what we aim to do is to get you playing tunes and having fun with the saxophone as soon as possible. We will get you playing immediately. Our philosophy is that if we can get you enjoying playing the sax and developing your practical ability then this will make you hungry to learn more of the exercises and music theory which will then enable you to build on your existing skills.

As a beginner you will not be bombarded with complicated jargon and difficult theory. We will instead teach you how to play the Pink Panther, Baker Street and Summertime. Once you can do this and you are hungry to learn more, we then start to gently introduce exercises and theory work which will improve your skills.

If you are an intermediate player, we only show you new scales, patterns, licks and theories which directly apply to tunes you are working on now. Everything you learn at Sax School will be useful to you immediately.

If you are an advanced player then we can tailor what you learn specifically for you. It may be that you need to work on your reading, your ear or it may be that you need some help with getting gigs.
